On the 350th anniversary of the funeral of Cromwell, which took place at Westminster Abbey on 23rd November 1658, a small service of commemoration was held at the same place on Sunday 23rd November 2008.
Organised by the Cromwell Association with the support of the Dean and Chapter, the service in the Henry VII Chapel at the east end of the Abbey, comprised two readings, Psalm 71, Philippians 4:9-13, and prayers including Cromwell’s Final Prayer.

During the short service, conducted by the Rev Canon Robert Reiss, Mr Geoffrey Bush, a member of the Association and a descendant of Cromwell, laid a wreath on the plaque that commemorates Cromwell’s burial from 1658-1661.
