Study Day October 2010

Notorious delinquents- a reappraisal of the regicides
a study day organised by The Cromwell Association
Saturday 16th October 2010

350 years ago this year, those held responsible for the trial and execution of King Charles Ist, in January 1649, were themselves held to account and punished. The regicides were vilified and dealt with harshly by the newly restored Stuart regime.

The Cromwell Association has organised this study day to bring together leading historians of the period to consider different aspects of what happened in 1660-1661.

The speakers are Geoffrey Robertson QC, Dr Jason Peacey (UCL), Dr Lloyd Bowen (University of Cardiff), Dr Patrick Little (History of Parliament), and will be chaired
by Professor Peter Gaunt, President of the Association.

The study day will be held on Saturday 16th October at The City Temple, Holborn Viaduct, London, EC1 A 2DE. The nearest underground stations are Farringdon and Chancery Lane.
